Luxury Expedition Cruise Ship
The 42-meter (140-foot) Island Passage is unique in that other vessels of her size carry more than double the 20 passengers that she can accommodate. This gives Island Escape passengers much more room to relax. She is also licensed for 200 day passengers. Island Escape Cruises wants to make your stay as comfortable as possible onboard the Island Passage. So if you have any special request for an item or service that is not immediately available, they will do everything within their means to get it for you.
Fishing Charters
Island Escape provides a range of blue water sport fishing, game fishing and saltwater fly fishing escapes in New Zealand.
For a limited season, Island Escape Cruises operates from a Monganui base in Northland to cover the northern areas of New Zealand. In the NZ summer months striped, blue and black marlin, yellow fin, blue fin, albacore tuna and yellowtail kingfish are abundant throughout the top half of New Zealand.
Available fishing falls into two main catergories - blue water gamefishing for the likes of marlin, swordfish and tuna; and sportfishing for tuna, kingfish, trevally and a variety of smaller NZ inshore reef species.
Fishing will be conducted from four vessels - Island Passage itself (possible trolling between destinations and jigging/casting over reefs or when anchored up at night), two seven-meter Marco center console/centra cab tenders and a seven-meter Commando 'landing craft'. The center cabin will be set up with outriggers for blue water trolling. Quality Shimano tackle and accessories will be provided.
All billfsh will be tagged and released, unless the fish is deemed unlikely to survive. All fish landed is the property of Island Passage.
Fishing sessions are planned as 7:30-11:30am, with a break from lunch and refreshments. Then a further session from 1:30-5:30pm. All are subject to weather and vessel positioning.

Reservation Policy
On completion and return of the Island Escape Cruises Cancellation Terms & Conditions of Travel form you have formally confirmed to Island Escape Cruises Ltd that you intend to join an adventure cruise. Once we confirm your cruise position then a 50% deposit is required to reserve your position on that cruise. Full payment is required at least 14 days before the departure date.
Cancellation Policy
If cancellation is received within 30 days prior to sailing then a 50% cancellation fee will be incurred. If cancellation is received within 7 days prior to arrival, a 100% cancellation fee will be incurred.
